WHO ARE YOU?

You are you! There is no one like you. No one who was ever born, since Adam and Eve, has been like you. There is not anyone alive right now that is like you. There will never be anyone born from the next second on that will be like you. You are unique. That means you are one of a kind, matchless, distinctive, and irreplaceable.

God made you on purpose for a purpose. The best explanation I have ever found was on a Website GotQuestions.org:

"God created us for a purpose, but that purpose will look different for every person we are each unique. To be created in the image of God means that we were created to be mirrors of God's glory -- one-of-a-kind mirrors that reflect the diverse aspects of His nature. A mirror serves no other purpose than to reflect something else. A mirror is useless when covered in mud; likewise, when we are covered in sin and turned away from God, we are not living out the purpose for which we were created. But when we respond to God's offer of salvation and allow his Holy Spirit to clean us up, we turn toward our Creator, and His glory is reflected in our lives. It is not our light or beauty the world needs to see, but His (John 8:12; 9:5).

Let's repeat that: He created you for a purpose. He had you specifically in mind before he created "time". You fit into His picture like a jigsaw puzzle piece in a vast picture of his creation and eternal plan. You are valuable, you are uniquely designed to fit into that one place in the puzzle he has created for you. You are not an afterthought, you are not a mistake, you are not useless, rather you have a purpose to fit into that one place in the cosmic puzzle he created.

You are unique in that you, only you, can fit into that place he created just for you. Sometimes that place can be so hard to find because we have been beaten into another shape or we have been told that we are worthless and not qualified to fit into the puzzle or treated in such abusive ways that we feel worthless and not worthy to even be in the puzzle. We, that is simply not the case. His arms are ready to receive you, He is ready to launch you into purpose when you give up yourself to Him and let Him take over. My favorite verse in the Bible is Proverbs 3:5-6:

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart;

do not depend upon your own understanding.

Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

I have this pinned to the wall in my office and look at it multiple times a day. Our lives right now are very chaotic; it is a struggle. It can feel like we are plodding through a mudhole that is up to our shoulders but becoming determined to keep moving forward, not stopping, not turning around, not giving up is out goal. And every goal has an end. Don't give up!
